Day One - Sunday, 18th August
Cape Town
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport in the morning, collect your INEOS Grenadier, and drive a short distance to your hotel in Cape Town’s famous V&A Waterfront. After lunch, a short walk to the East Pier and our Sub-Saharan Africa HQ, for a full trip briefing. After, dinner and drinks at one of Waterfront’s 100 acclaimed restaurants.

Day Two - Monday 19th August
Cape Town to Bushman’s Kloof (306km)
Head out of Cape Town on national route, N1, and turn north after 57km, to enter the Western Cape Winelands. Enjoy the stunning landscape as historic towns, farmsteads and hamlets rush by, in the shadow of jagged Cape peaks. On to the Drakenstein mountains via Bain’s Kloof Pass. Down to fruit-farming town, Ceres, before climbing again into the Cederberg mountains. Here, the tarmac ends, and our final climb of the day starts, through Wuppertal and the Bidou Valley to Bushman’s Kloof.

Day Four - Wednesday, 21st August
Bushman’s Kloof to Rogge Cloof (248km)
After breakfast, you’ll head east out of the Cedarberg mountains, on a beautiful gravel track called The Old Postal Route. Into the Tankwa Karoo valley, a remote, tranquil national park featuring its own unique flora and fauna. Then, you’ll climb through the Roggeveld Mountains onto the plateaus of the Great Karoo, South Africa’s own Gobi Desert, the size of Germany.
Spend the night in Rogge Cloof Estate.

Day Five - Thursday 22nd August
Rogge Cloof to Wilderness (314km)
Descend out of the Roggeveld Mountains into the expansive plains of the Great Karoo. Then, a steep drive up the Swartberg Pass, through the town of Prince Albert and on to the Cango Caves, before winding down Montagu’s Pass to Wilderness. If the weather’s good, we'll take a refreshing dip in the Indian Ocean, before retiring to the hotel.

Day Six - Friday 23rd August
Wilderness to Zandvlakte (263km)
Take the historic 7 Passes route through rich mountain forests to the quaint lagoon town of Knysna. You’ll then ascend the Prince Albert Pass, cutting through the expansive Outeniqua Mountains to reach Uniondale. Then rugged, dusty tracks into the timeless Baviaanskloof Mountains. Before reaching your evening retreat: Zandvlakte, a working farm where you’ll dine under the stars.
Spend the night at Zandvlakte.

Zandvlakte to Riverbend Lodge, Addo (307km)
The best for last? Steep mountain passes. River crossings. The Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area offers your toughest challenges yet. You’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of Cockscomb Peak, as you descend to the Karoo plains and into Addo Elephant National Park, the country’s third largest game reserve. For two nights at RiverBend Lodge. And a whole day for a guided game drive, wine tasting, or the chance to unwind in a sensational setting, where 5-star luxury meets old-world charm.

After a relaxing breakfast, a short, easy 75km on-road drive to Port Elizabeth and the end of your trip. Catch a plane straight home, hop on a connecting flight, or continue your South African adventure however you want. We’d be happy to recommend options.
