SARDA NZ

New Zealand's Search and Rescue Avalanche Dogs

DRIVING AVALANCHE RESPONSE

A motivated, trained and focused dog. An experienced, passionate and determined handler. And now a tackle-anything, reliable and versatile 4X4. We’re hugely proud to join the Search and Rescue Dogs Avalanche (SARDA) New Zealand team.

DEDICATED SEARCH AND RESCUE

SARDA NZ provides avalanche response dogs and handlers in New Zealand’s ski areas. In the past, they had to rely on ski area vehicles also tasked with operations staff transportation. Our partnership provides dedicated transport, so dogs can be deployed quickly, wherever they’re needed.

OFFICIAL VEHICLE PARTNER OF SARDA NZ

INEOS Automotive has been SARDA NZ’s official vehicle partner since the 2024 winter season. We’ve provided two Grenadier 4X4s for SARDA search and rescue teams to use at key locations: the Christchurch-Canterbury area and the Southern Lakes.

“Having access to the Grenadiers will make a huge difference to our rescue operations. In the event of an avalanche, the vehicle can deploy handlers and dogs quickly but safely to help sweep the area. With numerous unsealed roads and various terrains, robust 4X4 vehicles are the best and safest choice.”

Karyn Robertson, National Coordinator of SARDA NZ

LEADING CAPABILITY

Full box-section ladder frame chassis. Heavy-duty solid beam axles. Two-speed transfer case. And up to three locking differentials. The Grenadier’s been built for more. So, it’s the ideal vehicle to enable SARDA teams to navigate multiple terrains.

CUSTOMISATION

In addition to the Grenadier’s capable backbone, our rugged 4X4’s been customised to SARDA’s needs. Lightweight materials. State-of-the-art fixings. And dog kennels to ensure animals and equipment are safe and secure during critical missions. The vehicles also have sophisticated Wi-fi communications hubs, ensuring team members can talk with other rescue crews at all times.
