Built on purpose

The HALO Trust

The HALO Trust is the world's largest landmine clearance charity, tackling some of the most inhospitable places on the planet.

Built on purpose: Partnering with the halo trust to develop the Grenadier

Set up in 1988 by two former British soldiers, they have operations in over 25 countries, employing 9,000 local deminers across the globe. To do their work, they need a 4X4 fleet that is tough, reliable and fit for purpose.

INEOS Automotive first worked with The HALO Trust in 2020, spending time in Angola on an active operation to experience the tough working conditions their 4X4 fleet undergo. Seeing first-hand how the charity’s vehicles negotiate pitted and sometimes undrivable roads, often making repairs in the field with only basic tools, has helped shape the ongoing development of the Grenadier.

One of our 2B prototypes helped The HALO Trust get to work clearing landmines in Kosovo. It wasn't your average commute. The charity’s work often starts where the road ends. Seeing how the Grenadier handled Kosovo’s rocky, muddy, rutted tracks and the snow and rain, has helped us give The HALO Trust the rugged 4X4 they need.

The Halo Trust in Kosovo

"Having travelled to a new number of programmes already with The HALO Trust (Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Ukraine and now Kosovo) it's clear that the Grenadier would be up for every terrain that we operate in now and in the future. It's extremely important that the job that we do, we can't do without vehicles so we need a vehicle that will be able to get us there and get us back."
