INEOS GRENADIER AT THE 2025 F.A.T INTERNATIONAL ICE RACE
THE COOLEST CAR EVENT
Spiked wheels clawing for traction. A track carved into frozen airfield. Over 5,000 car culture vultures descending on a small village in the Austrian Alps to devour the spectacle. This can only be the F.A.T International Ice Race. And we were there, showing our limited editions and offering test drives.
Some call it ‘Goodwood in the snow’. Others call it ‘the world’s most exclusive winter car event’. We call it the perfect place to let car enthusiasts experience our ultimate 4X4, including our Grenadier Quartermaster prototype with portal axles.
The event is named after a logistics company well known for sponsoring two Le Mans winning cars. And was revived in 2019 by Ferdinand Porsche, nephew of Wolfgang Porsche, and descendent of Ferdinand Porsche Senior, founder not only of Porsche, but also Volkswagen.
With event car royalty bloodline firmly established, time to discover the role INEOS Grenadier played in this motorsport event steeped in tradition.
THE COOLEST LOOKING GRENADIER?
High speed legends, from iconic classics to the latest electric concept vehicles. Battling it out on the ice, snow and slush of the track. But it was the paddock where visitors could get up close to the rare and exotic cars on display.
We set up camp here, to present two very special limited editions. The Grenadier 1924, giving customers an opportunity to celebrate Belstaff’s first centenary by owning one of just 1924 models produced. Each featuring exclusive design features not found on any other Grenadier model.
And our Grenadier Quartermaster prototype with portal axles. This is the big red beast we previewed at Goodwood last summer. And at the F.A.T Ice Race, its elevated stance attracted just as much attention.
Our photogenic bar-raiser stopped visitors in their tracks, to take photos and ask questions. And not to brag or anything, but one of those visitors was none other than Walter Röhrl, legendary German rally driver of the (literally) groundbreaking Audi Sport Quattro S1. He only posed for photos next to our groundbreaking Grenadier (see above image). No big deal #verybigdeal
By the way, if you too are a fan of the Grenadier Quartermaster prototype with portal axles, you can read more here, and register your interest here.
UNFORGETTABLE TEST DRIVES
We didn’t just show off the INEOS Grenadier. Visitors could drive it, too. But they had to be quick. We announced test drives on the F.A.T Instagram channel. Within four hours, all slots had gone. Those fast, and lucky, enough to bag one could choose from two Station Wagons and one Quartermaster pick-up. Before putting our ultimate 4X4 through its paces alongside a professional instructor, to help them get the most out of it and answer any questions.
Test drive the INEOS Grenadier Station Wagon or Quartermaster pick-up near you.
SHOWRUNS IN THE SNOW
For everyone else who didn’t get a chance to get behind the wheel, we took to the track with our Grenadier Quartermaster prototype with portal axles, and our regular pick-up. This helped us raise awareness and demonstrate our ultimate 4X4’s capability on ice, to a wider audience. We even fielded a Quartermaster in F.A.T livery, to create some buzz.
Thank you to our two instructors, our five INEOS Automotive representatives, and to Hans Peter Pessler, INEOS Automotive COO. And thank you to everyone who came along to chat with us, or drive our utlimate 4X4, at this ultimate winter car event.
