Born in a pub. Built for more.

in a pub
One evening in a pub in London, pint in hand, an idea was born. As Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS Chairman and lifelong 4x4 enthusiast, sat in the dimly lit Grenadier pub on the cobbled streets of Belgravia, he hatched a plan to build the spiritual successor and modern answer to 4x4s of old. Built the proper way. For real use.

An idea was born
If no-one else would build an uncompromising, purpose-built 4x4, INEOS would. The legendary £5 note of the first ever Grenadier sketch is still pinned to the pub's ceiling today - a reminder that this vehicle didn't start in a boardroom. Naturally.
And then we built it
"We set out with a vision to build the world's best utilitarian 4X4, and we have done just that."

Step inside, and you enter a world designed differently. Every detail serves a purpose. From the obvious strengths to the subtle touches, the Grenadier is born from the belief that modern life shouldn't mean settling for less. Introducing the ultimate 4x4, a special vehicle, for a truly select group of drivers.
Boxy shape
All four corners visible from the driver's seat, simple geometry giving you absolute confidence for where your vehicle is and isn't, at all times. Complete also with flat bonnet panels sturdy enough to be a table, lookout post or desk in the wild.

Safari Windows
A request from Jim himself, made during virtual reality testing, and delivered in the final design. Wide enough for a spotter with a torch or a camera, or a flamingo after a better vantage point. Really, we checked.

Spotlights in the grille
A military touch. Fit for purpose for when the sun goes down, and when you're in the middle of nowhere. And you can't see 10ft in front of you.

Vehicle vision
British-inspired. German engineering. The result? An unstoppable machine. A vehicle that can pull a plough, cross a desert, lead a safari, clear a minefield, or roll up to Buckingham Palace and not look out of place.

Every shade has a backstory.
The Grenadier paint colours
We didn't design fancy hues to catch showroom lights. We chose them because they tell their own unique story. Because on a Grenadier, even the paint has a job to do.

Brand
The Lambda
Our bold brand mark. An ancient Spartan emblem of strength, mobility and moving forward, carried on their shields into battle. It also gave rise to the word 'laconic' dry, concise wit.
V in the grille
V for Vanguard. leading the way. Some say it's also two fingers up to other 4x4 makers. We couldn't possibly comment.
