Building an uncompromising 4X4 takes determination and guts. It means choosing a road less travelled. It’s a story Jamie McDonald knows well.
Jamie spent the first nine years of his life in and out of hospital with a rare spinal condition, along with a very weak immune system and epilepsy. Over time his health significantly improved and in 2012 he began a quest to give back to the hospitals that supported him - by taking on a series of extraordinary fundraising challenges.
Among his many exploits Jamie has cycled 14,000 miles from Bangkok to his hometown of Gloucester and become the first person to run 5,000 miles unsupported across Canada. His other accomplishments include:
2012: Bangkok to Gloucester cycle: 14,000 miles (in flip flops!)
2012: World record for longest time pedalling a static bike: 268 hours (more than 11 days)
2014: First person to run unaided across Canada: over 5,000 miles, 200 marathons
2018: USA coast to coast run: 5,500 miles, 210 marathons
2019: World record for greatest treadmill distance in 7 days: 524 miles, 20 marathons
