INEOS joins the battle against Coronavirus

INEOS is to start producing one million standard and “pocket bottle” hand sanitisers a month in just ten days.

Initially, we’ll supply NHS hospitals free of charge for the period of the crisis and make it available to the public through retailers.

Our sites in Grangemouth, Scotland and northern Germany produce nearly 1 million tonnes of the raw materials needed for sanitisers every year. And whilst we’re Europe’s largest producer of them, it’s not enough. So, to meet the shortfall, we’re going to build a new UK factory within 10 days and then another in Germany. We’re planning on doing whatever we can to help in the global battle against this virus.

"INEOS is a company with enormous resources and manufacturing skills. If we can find other ways to help in the coronavirus battle, we are absolutely committed to playing our part”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder and chairman of INEOS
