Free hand sanitiser to beat the shortage – and the virus.

INEOS promised to begin making one million bottles of hand sanitiser in the UK per month. And we’ve done it. As Europe’s biggest producer of the raw materials needed for hospital-grade hand sanitiser, and with it in seriously short supply, we built a new UK factory in under 10 days, then another in Germany and France, with a fourth on the way also in France. Each will produce one million bottles per month. We’re doing whatever it takes. We’re supplying the sanitiser free to European hospitals in the frontline fight against the virus and distribution to NHS began on the 31st March. We'll also be making it available to schools, workplaces, pharmacies and supermarkets.

"I’M EXTREMELY PROUD OF THE INEOS TEAM WHO’VE BUILT THESE MAJOR PRODUCTION FACILITIES IN LITERALLY A FEW DAYS. I BELIEVE THESE HAND SANITISERS WILL PLAY A KEY ROLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS AND HELP PROTECT OUR NHS STAFF.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, founder and chairman of INEOS
